About Us

My "dog life" started when I was 10 years old in 1980. I started going daily to my neighbour Målfrid, who was breeding Norwegian Buhund and Welsh Corgi Pembroke under the pedigree name Kennel Leite-gård. She always had 20+ dogs, several litters per year, and traveled a lot to exhibitions. Together with her I learned an incredible amount. I got to join her doing everything from delivering litters, obedience courses, daily training with the dogs and dog show handling.

Breeding and dog show exhibition is therefore close to my heart, and I have a passion for dog language and dog psychology too. Personally I've had 9 Welsh Corgi Pembrokes and 4 Rottweilers before my first Basenji Eyla came to us in 2006. Unfortunately, I have seen quite a few sad examples of how dogs can turn out if they are not bred seriously in terms of health, temperament and socialisation.

This has led me to work hard and thoroughly for over 20 years to deliver the best puppies I can and to share my knowledge with others. I have worked 10 years as a store manager in a pet shop, and sat on the breed council in the Norwegian Basenji club. I am an instructor for Dalane Hundeklubb's exhibition group, and I have an online THINKIFIC course. Currently I am working on my third book (all in English) to inspire and educate. We are never fully taught when it comes to dogs. I love to learn and seek to do so every day. The breed closest to my heart since 2006 is the Basenji.

It's an ancient breed, that requires a skilled breeder with maximum preparation and imprints before it is delivered. This is important to make sure the buyer get a safe, happy, curious puppy and easier dog keeping. I help select the right puppy for the right home, and I am available 24/7 for questions about training, health, behavior etc. as long as it's necessary.

Kardohill's family offers a large, safe network in a Facebook group, where all my puppy owners can meet, ask or share. Are you curious about whether the Basenji is right for you?

Get in touch for a pleasant chat (Facebook) and an honest feedback.
